A total of 412 individuals are now “BIM Accredited Professionals” after completing a Level 2 BIM training course and exam offered by BRE.
This course takes two days and ensures that participants have a basic understanding of BIM Level 2, including the use of information models, processes, standards, management and collaboration to achieve it.
In addition, 98 people have been accepted on to the BRE’s more advanced BIM Level 2 Certificated Professional Scheme, which means they have passed a further BIM exam.
The scheme keeps members abreast of any updates on BIM policy and procedures, and assures clients their skills are up-to-date.
Further training is being launched in March, which will cover Task Information Management (TIM), Project Information Management (PIM) or Project Delivery Management (PDM).
On successful completion of the examination at the end of day two, delegates can apply to become a member of the Certificated Professional Scheme in BIM Level 2.
The courses are offered by BRE and the Avanti Partnership, a company set up by BIM Task Group member Mervyn Richards OBE and BIM Task group advisor Paul Shillcock, who were the author and co-author respectively of PAS1192-2:2013.
