Offsite construction specialist McAvoy has entered the residential market with the launch of a new steel-framed system.
The modular system has been tested with Queen’s University, Belfast, and can be used to build multi-storey apartments, detached, semi-detached and terraced homes.
An complete house can be built in a day and from foundations to occupation in just seven days, the firm says.
Managing director Eugene Lynch said: “We are well placed to become a significant player in the provision of high-quality family housing, manufactured offsite in a quality-controlled factory environment.
“We have a proven track record, strong project management expertise and highly transferrable skills from successful delivery of offsite solutions across a range of other sectors.”
McAvoy has ambitious plans for growth in the residential sector and, Lynch says, capacity is already in place to meet anticipated growth in demand.
Features of the firm’s new offsite housing product include a thermal floor construction manufactured from recycled material and a pre-tiled roof module designed for safer and faster construction.
The overall system is claimed to be highly flexible for creating bespoke designs, with BOPAS Buildoffsite certification for reduced risk and assurance of 60-year durability for mortgageability.
The company delivers as principal contractor on all of its projects, providing a turnkey design, manufacture, construction and fit-out service.
