Space Group releases updated collaboration software

Space Group has released the latest version of its Warboard collaboration platform.

Warboard is a cloud-based software platform which manages issues in a federated model helping collaboration and communication across a project team on complex construction projects.

Over the past few years the company has continued to develop the platform in response to the evolving digital construction sector.

The latest version includes new features such as a newly built interface, multiple project management capabilities and advanced expandable clash results for customised reporting.

Warboard was first developed by the Newcastle-based firm in 2013 for internal use by Space Group’s in-house Space Applied Technologies team for its sister company BIM Technologies.

There was a need for greater visibility of issue management on projects and at the time, no existing software platforms were suitable for their requirements, therefore a bespoke Warboard platform was built.

Warboard has been designed to support the BCF (BIM Collaboration Format) and can be exported from Revit or other design software, and it has a native Navisworks plug-in, allowing seamless one-click synchronisation.

Rob Charlton, chief executive of Space Group, said: “We initially developed Warboard to allow clients to monitor project progress through a simple dashboard. Over the years the platform has grown into something much more valuable, the functionality has been devolved by many users on many live projects and this latest release delivers enhanced functionality and is particularly focused on helping designers workflows.”
