Bike rack supplier Saris has launched a free 3D online configurator to make it easier to create urban designs that are bicycle friendly.

Saris supplies products that improve bike accessibility, which can be found in multi-family and student housing, transit stations, stadiums and parking stations.

The configurator includes instant access to BIM and CAD model downloads for designers and architects.

The product catalogue includes e-bike charging stations and various bike racks, making it easier to use the correct bicycle infrastructure product in plans.

Saris says the configurator will help it connect with architects during the design process so it can assist with recommending the right products.

Infrastructure product manager Chris Bauch said: “Architects encounter various bicycle needs in different cities with unique regulations and various size bike storage rooms. Our goal is to make it quick and easy for architects to find, design, and specify the Saris bike product needed for their plans.”

Bauch added: “We found more designers are coming to our website for answers and to access BIM models or technical product information.

“This new tool allows us to provide a product configurator and deliver 3D CAD & BIM models all from within our site. Selecting a very specific and highly configurable product is now much easier. Our customers will love it.”
