Elecosoft releases updated project management software

Elecosoft has launched the latest iteration of its project management software solution, Powerproject, alongside a significant upgrade to Site Progress Mobile, the accompanying mobile app which allows for progress reporting from a construction site.

Powerproject Version 15 includes a number of enhancements:

  • Significant interface and appearance improvements making plans more impressive;
  • Automated schedule quality checks to CIOB and DCMA standards;
  • Improved progress reporting to deliver more accurate plans.

The software is designed for those operating across the whole spectrum of the construction sector including pre-build, modular, fit-out, commercial and residential builds and infrastructure.

The highlights include:

BIM – Build Direction Enhancement: With this enhancement to Powerproject’s 4D functionality, a 3D element can now be animated during a time-simulation to give a more realistic presentation. For instance, brickwork can be simulated to appear from the ground up, or piles can be shown moving downwards.

Schedule Quality Check: A project plan can now be assessed using new automated tests which identify whether it has been well planned and complies with industry or corporate standards. Users can build their own thresholds into the evaluations or follow the included, recognised, industry metrics that are in line with the DCMA and CIOB guidelines.

Talking about the new functionality, Scott Worthington, national planner at Wilmot Dixon, said: “The thoroughness, quality and ultimately the robustness of our project schedules are things we value highly. Having a Schedule Quality Check built into Powerproject will certainly help those who plan our projects to verify that the right planning practices have been adopted when presenting our intended project strategies. Improved confidence in our planning schedules will help towards providing greater time certainty to our customers.”

Site Progress Mobile: New functionality within the mobile app enhances the way teams can report and submit progress by introducing new monitoring methods, the ability to edit or annotate supporting photos and to add new tasks into the plans remotely.

Navigating and grouping tasks within the app have also been improved to make it easier for users to identify which activities need the most urgent attention.
