To make the most of digital technology, you must focus on people. That’s the key theme of the second webinar at the Global Construction Summit. The webinar features a case study from Aecom and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

Representing Aecom is Wes Beaumont MCIOB, associate vice president, digital transformation leader at its US East and Latin America division. Alongside him will be Sadia Janjua, chief of digital transformation & innovation at the Port Authority.

They will discuss the challenge they face on the Port Authority’s three-year digital transformation programme.

Beaumont said: “Its overall objective is to connect the sum of its parts to not just deliver world class service, but to reimagine the workplace of the future.

“We have four strategic themes: digitisation and automation; controlling our projects; improving working relationships; and a culture of continuous improvement. However, developing a lasting legacy of change cannot be achieved without the collective endorsement of people, from senior leadership to early career professionals.”

He added: “We’ll explore some of the ways we are delivering this programme, from quick wins to long-term and sustainable improvement in performance.”

Also sharing their best practice for optimised technology implementation will be: Dave Philp, chief value officer at Cohesive and chair of the Chartered Institute of Building’s Digital and Asset Management Advisory Board; and Simon Phillips, senior consultant at webinar sponsor PlanRadar.

The webinar will be broadcast live at 2pm GMT on 22 February. It will be available to watch on demand shortly thereafter. The webinar is free to attend and qualifies for an hour’s CPD credit. Register now.

The webinar is part of the Global Construction Summit, taking place on 21-23 February. The Summit is organised by the CIOB and Global Construction Review.
