JCB telematics integrates what3words location system

JCB’s telematics portal has been updated to include integration with the what3words global location system.

What3words is a system that maps the world into 3m x 3m squares, giving each location a unique three-word reference. The addition of what3words functionality to the JCB LiveLink portal means that every machine connected to the system can instantly be pinpointed to a specific location at any time.

What3words makes it possible to identify an exact location without a postcode or a street address – and JCB equipment regularly works on sites without postcodes.

With a single click on LiveLink, the what3words location of any machine is shown. As well as helping customers, this integration helps JCB dealers and service technicians to locate machines, and also helps police forces in the recovery of stolen equipment.

More than 300,000 JCB machines are monitored by the LiveLink system, allowing machine operators and fleet managers access to all fleet data through an online portal and mobile app.
