Tilbury Douglas is collaborating with Unity, the developer of platforms that can create and operate real-time 3D content.

Little more is known about the collaboration, but BIMplus believes it is connected to the developments that Tilbury Douglas technical director Mark Buckle outlined in his recent interview [watch this space – ed].

In the short press announcement, Buckle stated: “Collaborating with a pioneering, digital expert like Unity will enable us to help lead the way in digital construction innovations. Our vision is for everyone, from the very tech savvy project manager to the less tech focused, to be able to access project information in a quick and easy-to-use, and easy-to-understand, way.”

Unity senior vice president digital twins Dave Rhodes added: “We’re honoured to be collaborating with Tilbury Douglas. Unity’s real-time 3D platform transforms every stage of the construction lifecycle, helping professionals unlock BIM data through immersive real-time experiences.

“Real-time digital twins will permanently change how we live and work, make a positive impact on our planet, while representing a significant component of what is often referred to as the ‘metaverse’.”
