Trebilcock to ‘enhance digital services’ at Capita as new head of architecture

BIM guru Peter Trebilcock has been appointed as head of architecture by Capita Real Estate and Infrastructure, which includes ESA Architects.

Of his new role, Trebilcock said: “This is a great time to be joining Capita, as the firm seeks to draw on the extensive knowledge gained in managing one in 20 commercial buildings in the UK. I look forward to helping Capita enhance its digital services, which go far beyond BIM and includes in-house data analytics and cyber specialists.”

In his new role, he will be responsible for building Capita’s reputation as one of the leading BIM and digital services specialists as it seeks to secure new clients and continue to deliver outstanding services to its existing base. He heads up an 8o-strong in offices in offices around the UK.

Previously Trebilcock was head of Balfour Beatty’s BIM Centre of Excellence, but was made redundant when the unit was disbanded in November.

A leading figure in a number of BIM steering organisations, he became director of BIM for Balfour Beatty Construction Services in 2013 where he was responsible for design, design management and designer selection for major projects.

Prior to that he was director of design across the group, having held the same position in the northern division, where he spearheaded the use of BIM.

With more than 25 years in architectural practice, his experience includes design projects across the UK as well as in Germany, Kuwait and China. He is a high-profile architect, having been elected as vice president of the Royal Institute of British Architects and been a judge of national architectural and BIM awards. He has received 2 RIBA awards, Civic Trust awards and several of his commissioned projects have also received RIBA and Civic Trust awards.
