Deltek launches AI assistant Dela

A screen grab of Deltek Dela in action

Deltek has launched an AI-powered assistant, Deltek Dela. It is designed to make it easier for Deltek users to access business intelligence, get assistance and apply automation, in order to increase the efficiency of project delivery.

Through intuitive voice or text commands, the “intelligent business companion” – as Deltek describes it – can generate smart content, quickly retrieve information, perform tasks, and assist knowledge sharing. Dela can also leverage large volumes of information to provide insights and predict project success based on project and organisational performance data.

Furthermore, by leveraging past behaviours and patterns, it can automate processes and inform decisions on everything from resourcing needs to project staffing, Deltek claims.

With an eye on trust and security, Deltek has worked with its generative AI partners to ensure customer data is not used to train large language models. Customers can choose whether or not to opt into using Dela’s features.

In a recent survey of 400 construction professionals commissioned by Deltek, 67% of respondents said they expect to lose market share within two years if they fail to make significant digital transformation, and AI is seen as a key solution. A majority (74%) said they are confident that investing in AI will expand the services they can deliver to the market. Indeed, 41% believe that successful AI implementation will increase profits.

Bret Tushaus, vice-president of product strategy at Deltek, said: “At Deltek, we’re committed to making the project lifecycle smarter and know that project-based businesses need a trusted partner that is not only innovative for the sake of innovation, but supports them to transform their business. We created Dela to meet this business need, providing project-based businesses with the technology needed to launch new services, increase staff engagement and, ultimately, boost profits.”
