McLaren Construction drafts in James Eaton and Acumine to develop digital strategy

James Eaton: formerly of Sir Robert McAlpine and Laing O’Rourke, now with Acumine, supporting McLaren
McLaren Construction has drafted in former Sir Robert McAlpine and Laing O’Rourke digital head James Eaton, now director of digital transformation at Acumine, to develop the contractor’s digital and data strategy.

Eaton’s and Acumine’s appointment is for an initial 15-month programme.

Paul Heather, group MD for McLaren, said “We want to turn live project data into something our customers can use. With the Building Safety Act in mind, we want our customers to see quality of installation and demonstrate competency. This role is really going to help that.”

Eaton is the former global head of digital engineering at Laing O’Rourke and more recently the head of digital delivery at Sir Robert McAlpine. He has stepped into the consultancy arena by joining specialist construction data firm Acumine, whose clients also include Kier, Tilbury Douglas and Sir Robert McAlpine.

Acumine director Daniel Maddocks added: “James is a leading figure in the profession with a proven track record in digital transformation and strategic leadership. To attract somebody of his calibre is not only exciting, but a testament to the strength of our offering.

“By bringing James on board, we are able to further solidify our commitment to creating legacy impact for our customers and we wish him every success in the role.”
